March 2K18 Update: The end of the F$%KING world.

JK. Everything is fine. Here's what I've been up to the past few weeks. ;-)

One week ago the Pittsburgh music community was in a total panic attack mode after news broke out about the Pittsburgh Music Ecosystem Project's Town Hall Meeting that happened last Tuesday at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater. A lot of people had a lot to say.

One of the most prolific sources of generating public commentary came via the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and the article written by Scott Mervis. It was shared around on Facebook by quite a few people the day after the event and the conversations that developed from all of this were rather interesting to follow. Personally, I couldn't even put my thoughts into words so instead I yelled at my camera for an hour and tried to make sense of it all.

If you want to know my uncensored, unapologetic thoughts on some real shit regarding the Pittsburgh music community here's my two cents. Enjoy. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.

NOTE: This was supposed to go up last week right after I filmed it but I had some unanticipated issues with the video files and no extra time to fix them properly over the past few days so I decided to upload it "as is". It's just me talking a bunch of shit anyways. I wasn't planning on this being in an IMAX release. It's fine.

We finished recording the new Greywalker album last month and I've been taking whatever free time I have in between other obligations to finish mixing it so we can send it off to the magical land of mastering. We're hoping to have the album out this Summer but we'll see how it goes. These things always take longer than you want them to. Sometimes being "DIY for Life" is literally just a consequence of the reality that doing everything yourself takes forever. The album sounds really good though. We're super proud of it. You'll be hearing it as soon as we can wrap it up!

If you want to hear some new jams LIVE and come support a great cause our next show in Pittsburgh is a Cancer Benefit Festival at the recently opened Stage At Karma located on East Carson Street in the Southside. If anyone is interested, we have tickets available and all of the money from the sales are going straight to the benefit. Hit us up!

For more info on this event and some other upcoming shows check down below.

In other news, I completed a little project I had been working on originally for One Minute Or Less that turned out to be a much bigger project than I originally expected. In full transparency I was drunk and on vacation when I decided to do this (If you can't tell already in the video) but it turned out really great and I'm super stoked on it.

If you haven't checked this out yet and you have a few minutes to spare DO IT! There are 2 different versions available online now. Links to both below! :-)

I have some new episodes of Start The Beat available as well featuring Lazy JP of the Hip-Hop duo BBGuns and indie horror filmmaker Todd aka Killer Wolfson of Just Buried Productions. Check out some short video clips and links to the full episodes below!

I think that's everything worth mentioning for now. There is lot's of other cool stuff coming up. Especially with the new Sikes and The New Violence related stuff. I may not be talking much about it online but it's all happening behind the scenes. Some cool announcements coming soon. Yep. Stay tuned!

Be excellent to each other and don't let the fuckers get you down. Peace!

R.I.P. 2017 - Final Sikes Show Of The Year & New Album Updates.

I'll be honest with you all. 2017 was a cool year for me as a human but not the most productive year for "Sikes". While a lot of awesome things happened, there was unfortunately too many distractions to allow for the new "Sikes and The New Violence" album to be completed. Very sad. Much bummer.

However, they say that everything happens for a reason and I would be lying if I said that these "distractions" didn't end up working in our favor. Being forced to spend some extra time on this new material has allowed for me to focus on myself and what I truly want to be doing as an artist moving forward. I know that sounds like some cookie cutter bullshit but I mean it. A year ago when I thought I was ready to record this album I actually wasn't and TBH I'm glad I didn't.

Anyways, fast forward past all the nonsense that happened this year and I'm happy to say that it is really close to being fully tracked now. Finally! With that being said, I have been testing out new material at some more recent solo performances and I'll be showcasing a whole lot of it at my final solo show of the year on December 2 at Blue Canary Coffeehouse in Mt Lebanon. Check the flyer.

Click the flyer for more info. Wow. Much convenience.

This is a really killer showcase of Underground/Experimental/Indie/Hip-Hop/Rap/Electronic/Whatever featuring some great artists from Pittsburgh along with some of my homies from Philly coming into town for the event. I'm excited to share some of my new music with the world as well as the music of all my other friends playing this evening SOOOOOOOOOOO if you can, you should make some room in your busy schedules to come out and show your support!

I appreciate the hell out of all of you. See you December 2nd! New "Sikes" album eventually. Pizza always. Peace!

This is what happens when I don't update my website for 3 weeks. #updates

Wanted to start off this post by thanking everyone one last time that voted for Sikes, Greywalker and Brewtal Beer Fest last month in the 2017 Best of Pittsburgh Readers Poll. It has been a really busy year for all of these projects and things are not slowing down any time soon!

I will be performing a solo Sikes set next month with some awesome people here in Pittsburgh at Blue Canary on December 2nd. The people at Blue Canary are really welcoming and this will be an awesome night full of underground sounds.

In other news, Greywalker is releasing our Hot Sauce collaboration with Allegheny City Farms this Friday at Mr Smalls Funhouse! We've been doing all sorts of fun promo for this including a "Hot Ones' Parody/Tribute with our good friend Sean Valentine of the band Vermithrax.

Brewtal Beer Fest has launched our Brewtal Alliance Membership Program which is an awesome way for you to stay BREWTAL throughout 2018. Check out this promo video below to learn all about that!

In the middle of all this chaos Start The Beat is still going strong and new episodes have been coming out weekly. I recently had Day Bracey from the Drinking Partners Podcast on my show and it was an awesome conversation. Check out a video clip below along with some links to some other recent episodes!

And of course we can't forget about #oneminuteorless. I've been doing my best to get these out weekly. In case you missed any here are the past few...

And the train just keeps rolling! We opened up the Get Hip Record Store last month as well. Myspace Nite was a blast and yes, I'm still working on the new Sikes album. I promise. See below for photo proof. That's all for now. Later!

New songs. Soon. 👌

More Metal, More K-Pop & More Beer! Upcoming Events + New Music.

Okay, Lets make this shit quick. There is a lot going on. Something for everyone. Fuck yeah. Party time. Here we go.

First off, we FINALLY announced the details for Brewtal Beer Fest 2 and the lineup of bands & breweries is INSANE. We've been working really hard on this event all year and we're stoked that it's coming up so soon! Check the flyer above for basic details and for more info CLICK HERE. If you don't need to see anything else and just want to buy a ticket immediately CLICK HERE. Word up.

Me and the Greywalker bois released a new track called "Gold Lust" this past week via Bandcamp. It's only a "Demo" recorded at our practice space but it's definitely a good appetizer for the full length we are gearing up to record this Fall/Winter. Give it a listen. I think it's pretty damn good TBH.

Me and the homie DJ Naikou are going to be spinning at this upcoming K-Pop Dance Party over at James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy on August 2nd and this should be a pretty rad time. Excited to play a full night of K-Pop alongside my dude Naikou. If this seems like your kinda thing please come on down! For more info CLICK HERE.

Wrapping up Sikes gigs for the year me and Mandy will be taking the stage at this years VEGFEST on August 5th at Allegheny Commons Park East in the North Side. This will be our final live performance of the year as we are going to be taking the remainder of the year off to finish the new Sikes and The New Violence album and everything else that goes along with that. Which is a lot. The new album is sick though so get excited for it. I think you're gunna like it!

On the same day as VEGFEST I will be packing up my gear and heading straight up to Black Forge Coffee House for BREWS & BRUSHES. A collaborative Art Show and Pre-Party for Brewtal Beer Fest 2. I am hosting the event and live painting alongside 8 other artists at the event. In addition, I will even have artwork on display for the first time in a LONG time at this event. SHEESH. Got some awesome bands playing and there will be plenty of beer as well. Fuck yeah. Should be an awesome time. Don't miss it! For more info CLICK HERE.

Okay, I think that is enough information for now. Time for a beer. Hope to see you at one of these events!!
